Dance Technique (for Musical Theatre)

Dance Technique (also called Modern Ballet) uses the fundamental discipline of Ballet for all concert dance styles. Although classical ballet is presented at our studio, we are not a strict ballet studio. We begin at the Ballet barre teaching the foundations of good body centering and balance, extension work, feet execution and steps. We move to the center of the floor to work on body musicality and fluidity of motion. We then work across the floor doing a variety of turns, leaps, etc. while focusing on the crucially important body positioning for the most efficient approach to the specified movements.
