ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

“ I have a passion for entertainment and want nothing more than to serve God through the arts, especially dance! ”
Fred DeBerg is a graduate of the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts. As a triple-threat in the entertainment industry, Fred received acclaim performing at Starlight Civic Light Opera, as the lead vocalist in Sea World’s “City Streets”, and as a regular in a variety of shows at the Lawrence Welk Resort Village Theater. Fred moved to New York when he was cast in Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Broadway tour of “Starlight Express” but returned to San Diego to pursue an active role in church ministry as Music/Drama Director, Choir Choreographer, and Creative Arts Director at various churches in town. Fred never truly gave up his love of dance working citywide as a choreographer. Fred returned to theater in his début performance with CCT in the 2007 performance of “Route 66” and has since choreographed “Annie Warbucks,” “Aladdin,” “Senior Follies,” and “Hello, Dolly” as well as performing in “Alice” as R. Abbott and “Hello, Dolly” as Cornelius. Fred asked to joined Lamb’s Players’ “Hello, Dolly” mid-production and returned as Andrew Farnsworth Hill in 2008’s “Angel’s Arms.” Dedicated to developing excellence in performance, Fred was asked to bring his knowledge in various theatrical dance styles to CCT/CYT in 2007 as their Director of Dance at Spotlight Dance Arts.
